Report for Community Service G11 at Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti, Bedong Kedah.

On 1st of April 2012, FSP G11 has done our community service at PDK Bedong with 20 members of our group. This PDK Bedong is a school for multiple disabilities children. First, we gathered in front of administration building at 7.30 in the morning. We had our breakfast there and we departed at 8.00 a.m. We arrived at PDK Bedong at 9.15 a.m.

We did the ice breaking session with them. Some of us were shocked when the saw the multiple disabilities children. Some of us were also afraid to approach them because they looked so weird to us. But we try our best to make them close to us and try to have some conversation with them.

The first agenda was playing some games with them. The first game was blowing the flour and marble in the spoon. We continue the games with jelly in the ice and eating hanging apple. It was so enjoyable and interesting. The children enjoy them very much and they were happy to participate in our games.

After we done with games, we run our community service project. We divided into two groups’ males and females. Males did the cleaning around the house compound while female cleaning inside the house. When we finished our cleaning project, we moved to prepare lunch for that day. Our menu for that day chicken grill, beef grill, fish grill and fried vegetables. Our members start cooking for the children and we made them involved with us to do some works. We cooperate with them in order to make them enjoyed the programme.

We continued with prize giving ceremony, we have prepared five hampers and one certificate as token of appreciation. We moved to next agenda was recreation at Tupah Waterfall. We brought 15 of the children and 9 of their staff to Tupah. They were happy to follow us. We arrived there and we brought for them some carbonated drinks and some snacks. They enjoyed swimming and we taking care of them while they were swimming. We finished our programme at 5.30 p.m. We sent back the children to their house and we departed for AiU.
