AIU's primary objective is to provide opportunities otherwise not available to students from underprivileged and disadvantaged backgrounds. Besides providing a Teaching-Learning-Research environment and experience of the highest possible quality, it is also expected that the Academic Programmes will reflect and imbibe humanitarian values, which will result in graduates not only becoming successful professionally, but also caring and giving individuals who will practice these attributes as a way of life.
For a start, AIU will offer the following programmes:
1. Centre of Foundation Studies
This 1 year Foundation programme will prepare students with O Level or equivalent qualifications for University studies. Students with higher qualifications but who cannot be accepted into degree programmes will need to do the Foundation programme which focuses on the following skills:-
• English Language
• Communications
• Mathematical
• Computing
• Thinking and Learning
