ICT Infrastructure

The AIU campus is wired up with fiber network backbone running on 10G platform for high quality usage of voice, data and video applications. The ICT infrastructure is equipped with the latest technology in network switching and bandwidth management whereby users will experience no interruptions, high availability of Internet and online applications.

The campus has distributed WIFI zones in the faculty buildings and hostels that are accessible by students, staff and registered guests. The intranet is divided into VLAN catering to students and academic staff that are grouped by the various Schools and Faculties and General Administration.

The voice and data services are allocated on each workstation for all staff and lecturers with IP telephone capability that can handle multimedia and audio conferencing for efficient discussion and meetings among staff or students.

The university has a data center that houses the network equipment and applications servers.

Computer Labs

The computer labs and workshops mostly located in the School of Information and Communication Technology building are:

  • 3 computer labs (25 – 32 seats).
  • 5 computer labs (30 seats) designed for language classes with audio visual and multimedia equipment.
  • 4 computer labs (25 – 32 seats) for future expansion.

The university has also provided an Internet room in the library for students and visitors to surf the internet or log on to the online applications. There are several PC workstations located in each floor of the library for reference index searching.
