Introduction
The Association of Albukhary Scholars (AAS) at the Albukhary International University exists as a scholarship society for excellence and leadership and strives to effect positive change in the world. The activities undertaken by the AAS are intended to promote individual and collective social responsibility, societal change for the betterment of humanity, participation in academic discourse, the principles of diversity and cohesiveness in the community, and the development of leadership skills.
Membership in the AAS signifies a commitment: to develop life long friendship between members, to develop an international network of alumni friends, to contribute to our respective countries as an organization dedicated to the improvement of the human condition; to develop the international reputation, humanitarian standing and image of AIU and AAS, to nurture and support a new generation of leaders and mentors serving the communities within which we will make a difference, and to ourselves as individuals, to never stop learning.
The Association's objectives are, amongst others:
I. To encourage lifelong learning of its members
II. To spread the core values of the University as they are lived by alumn.
III. To develop and sustain an international network for friendship and humanitarian efforts by AIU by supporting alumni members to become lifelong humanitarians.
IV. To encourage and support mentor relationships between alumn networks.
V. To publish and print publications, periodicals, journals, manuals, books newsletters and brochures containing updates, information and material relevant to and for the benefit of the members including information on the activities of the AAS.
Membership
AAS membership is open to all AIU students including all former and present Albukhary scholars who have been recipients of the Albukhary Foundation scholarships.
