Siti Noor Fauziah Abd Rahim joined AIU in June 2011 as an Assistant Lecturer in Learning Skills. She helps to prepare and develop teaching materials for Co-Curriculum, Leadership and Islamic Studies. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage. She majored in Comparative Religion and Usul al-Din, and minored in Psychology from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She is currently pursuing her Master of Education specializing in Educational Psychology at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
She was born in Georgetown, Penang, in 1985. As a student, she actively participated in conferences, seminars and workshops in her university and other universities. Her interests are in learning, motivation, social interactions, ageing process, human cognition and well-being, psychology, philosophy, ethics, comparative religions, ideologies and thoughts.
Lor Kiat Seng is an experienced English Language teacher, who has been an educationist since 1975. Prior to joining AIU, Kiat Seng was the Head of English Department at Surya College, a Nursing and Allied Health Sciences College in Butterworth. At Surya College, he designed intensive English programme for foreign students and taught English to nursing students. Previously, Kiat Seng had a long and successful career as a secondary school teacher at government secondary schools in Kelantan and Selangor. He was appointed as an examiner for SPM (Malaysian Certificate of Education ‘O’ level) English Paper II and MUET (Malaysian University English Test). He was also invited, on several occasions, by the District Education Department to conduct in-service courses for secondary school teachers. He earned an MA in English Language Teaching from Lancaster University in UK, a Bachelor of Education (TESL) from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Diploma in ESL from Universiti Malaya.
He grew up in a small, serene town, Tumpat, in Kelantan. Kelantan is one of the least developed states in Malaysia. However, Kelantan is a popular tourist destination because of its close proximity to Thailand. It is also famous for its batik industry; batik is a kaleidoscope of hand-painted textile. Majority of the people are Muslims but the Kelantanese are well-known for fostering racial and religious tolerance towards other ethnic groups. In fact, many rural Chinese have acculturated Malay way of life and speak perfect Malay dialect.
Lor is happily married with two children. His spouse still works in the corporatized Co-operative Department in Kelantan. His daughter has just completed her master’s degree in UK on a Cheveney Scholarship. She was an active social worker before undertaking her postgraduate studies. Her work had taken her to Philippines, Aceh and India. His son is an engineer who works for Altera Company in Penang. He is currently pursuing part-time studies in Master of Engineering.
Rajasegaran was a Senior Lecturer with Wawasan Open University before joining Albukhary International University. His previous lecturing positions include Senior Mathematics Lecturer of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in the School of Engineering and Mathematics, and Lecturer of Universiti Sabah Malaysia in the School of Science and Technology. His interest is in researching into Number Theory and Mathematics Education in electronic platform. He has published numerous papers in the Borneo Science Journal and ICDE journals, and presented several papers in international conferences, such as AAOU Conference and International Conference of Research in Mathematics. Rajasegaran holds an MSc in Mathematics from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a BSc in Mathmatics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Khyasudeen Abdul Majid joined Albukhary International University (AIU) in May 2011 as a senior lecturer in mathematics. He holds a Master of Science (Science Education) degree from The University of Iowa, USA. He served Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for the past 28 years before taking compulsory retirement in September 2010. During his tenure with UTM he was chosen as one of the pioneer lecturers to set up the Malaysian Armed Forces Academy. He was subsequently then seconded to the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) College in Alor Setar, Kedah. He was assigned to setup the Academic Unit at the Air Force College which offers the UTM Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Aeronautics) programme for cadet pilots. He served the Air Force as an Associate Professor for 15 years in teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry. He was also given the responsibility to carry out the academic related administrative work.
He started his academic career immediately upon completing a Diploma in Science with Education (UTM) as a science and mathematics teacher at St. Marks Secondary School, Butterworth, Penang in 1977. In 1982 he was offered to further his studies at the undergraduate level in UTM. Upon completion, he was posted to Sekolah Menengah Pendang, Alor Setar as a science and mathematics teacher. He served the school for less than a year before being offered a position as an Assistant Lecturer ‘A’ at the Faculty of Science, UTM. He was appointed to full lectureship in 1986 and then as an Associate Professor at the Foundation Studies Programme, UTM in 1993.
He has successfully supervised numerous undergraduate final year projects, published books and scholarly articles in international journals and encyclopedia. He has presented many of his research work at seminars and conferences both locally and internationally. In recognition for his work and contribution to the development of science and teaching of science , The Institute of Physics (UK) awarded him the designation of Chartered Scientist and Chartered Physicist in the year 1997.
