Library Services

Services

1. Inter-library loan /Document Delivery
This is a service to facilitate procurement of materials that are not available at the AIU Library. This service is available to students and faculty members of AIU who request for either books or articles.

Requests for books will be forwarded to local libraries. Library materials borrowed from other libraries are subjected to the terms and conditions imposed by the lending library. Renewal is generally not allowed.

Requests for articles will be initially forwarded to other Libraries in Malaysia as appropriate.  Unsuccessful requests will subsequently be forwarded to other reputable foreign libraries. While the service for inter-library loans is free, requests for articles will be charged to the individual at cost price or charged to research grants, if available.

2. Self-service Photocopying
The self-service photocopy machine is available at the Photocopy Room on the Ground Floor. Photocopy cards can be purchased from the counter staff. Compliance with the International Copyright Act is compulsory.

3. Reference/Reader Advisor
The Reader Advisor, who is a professional librarian, is available to provide assistance in utilizing materials in the Reference Collection that includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks and atlases. The person is also in charge of the AIU Information Literacy programme.  He/she is located at the Reference Desk, Ground Floor.
